Taylor (Charles B.) House is built.
1883
Architect: Samuel Kelley. One of four contiguous houses built by Charles Morse, it located at 31 Gloucester Street. Its first occupants is Boston Globe publisher, whom the newspaper describes as “[A man of] independent means . . . not engaged in any business.” The building is converted to apartments in 1951, a dormitory for Chamberlayne Junior College in 1966, and apartments in 1976.
